Some more helpful tips to start your running lifestyle.
Running and Walking
- It is a good idea to start slow by using the run-walk technique. Beginning runners usually don't have the stamina to run for long periods of time so by running for a short distance and then following it with a walk break, you can begin to build endurance to run longer and harder.
Just Breathe
- Breathing properly is essential to getting a safe and effective run. Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth will give your muscles enough oxygen while running to prevent injuries such as side stiches.
Walking and Talking
- Being to run while talking is a good starting pace. You should be able to comfortably breathe and carry on a conversation with your running partner. Being able to do this means you are at the pace you need to be. Also by starting out this way will aide in preventing over training and injuries.
